![]() ![]() Credo and Dante are absolutely a blast to fight (Dante uses the pandora box gundam cannon on higher difficulties!) Missing Features Startups (or in this case indie devs) cut through a lot of that fluff because either it is not relevant from the smaller scale, or they ignore or simply aren't aware about something that will one day come back to bite them if they are unlucky. In a trip down memory lane, (plus I wanted to see whether I still remembered how to play Devil May Cry 4, or for short DMC4) I quickly noticed that the boss fights in DmC:Devil May Cry, or for short DmC)were somewhat lacklustre compared to the variety of bosses in DMC4. It's everything surrounding that implementation that takes time. The guy doing the actual implementation maybe only takes a day to a week to get it done with the first draft of it, and this is what you see modders are capable of. ![]() Oftentimes you see a company take months to get back on a simple fix or feature for the software, it is usually for this reason. They don't have to think about backlog prioritization of other tasks, QA issues (maybe adding this causes problems elsewhere that the modders don't know about, or is just really buggy and needs time to refine), security, and in some cases even regulatory hurdles, parental controls, privacy concerns etc etc that could all take a lot of time to clear. It's optional, not everybody installs it, if it's janky who cares, etc. They just focus on releasing one thing people want, and if it's a hit then slowly iterate on it. I will be speaking in general terms here.įans and modders can easily get things out the door because there are no expectations for them. Speaking as a regular software dev I don't think it's that simple.
